My little Lacy - 19 Months

Well, we went three months with no episodes.

Friday she had two. One with my mom during the day and one at home in the evening. Poor kid. She was so pooped after the second one she laid on my lap for about a half hour. That's a pretty big deal for her. She is usually non-stop. Here is a blurry picture I took with my phone.
She has tubes in her ears from too many ear infections and although they both drained a LOT while she was sick, one never stopped. It has been draining continually for weeks. She lost two pairs of earrings because she was playing with her ears so much. I was told that means the tubes are doing their jobs. Recently she has stopped letting us clean it out, which is what triggered her first episode. My mom was being a good grandma and tried to wipe out some of the gunk. She didn't like that. At all.
I took her to the doctor this morning. We were one month late for her 18 month check-up. She is in the 90% in height and 25% in weight. Typical Dairman. :) She also had an ear infection, so I'm not sure why we got the tubes, but I'm not a doctor.
We thought she had grown out of these episodes early, but we are back to watching closely every time she cries.
She did cry once while we were at the doctor's office today. We were in our room waiting for the nurse and she heard a baby crying next door. She jumped up, listened closely and then tried to get out of the room to go help. When I didn't let her out she got very upset with me. Big crocodile tears and all. Maybe we have a future doctor on our hands??

Tempe Improv

A couple of weeks ago some of our friends invited us to go to the Tempe Improv with them. Don't ask who we saw because it doesn't matter...she wasn't that good. We still had a good time though. :D
I forgot my camera because I'm lame, but Donna remembered hers so she took a couple of pictures of us. I took one of them too, but Donna didn't send it to me because she's lame.
Then I asked the girl next to me to take one of the four of us. She was happy to. In fact, she said she worked for the company who made the special drinks of the night and offered to buy us all one. Thanks girl!! And thanks to Donna and Branden for a fun date night.

Halloween

Talon was a pirate again. I'm just kidding. He finally outgrew that thing and didn't even mention it this year. He wrote in a journal at school that he was going to be a turtle for Halloween. We thought he would change his mind a hundred times (like usual) but he didn't. He went as a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle. Rafael. I know that because Rafael is red. I think.
Hailey got this cheerleader outfit for her birthday. Yay!! Free for me means an awesome costume! I made her some cute bows for her hair the night before, and she was all set. What a pretty girl!!Lacy was going to be a flapper, which was another dress up costume Hailey got for her birthday. She tried it on once and wasn't too happy about the gloves. I didn't care. I didn't want to buy something I didn't think she would wear anyway. Our kids never liked costumes at her age.
Courtney asked us to borrow a costume for Ethan, and I'm so glad she did. I got the Halloween costume bin out of the garage and found this for Lacy.As soon as she put it on she was a total ham. She walked around the house looking down (so you couldn't see her face) then peeking up and saying boo and laughing.
Here she is "posing" for the camera with Sydney (Strawberry Shortcake), Hailey and Talon. She is so funny!!
I'm not sure she understood the whole trick-or-treating thing. She knew she was supposed to carry her bucket up to people and they would give her something to put in it.
She was on a mission. She would not let anyone put anything directly in her bucket. They would hand her the candy and she would say, "there you go", put it in her bucket and walk away.
I really wish I would have taken some video of her. She was non-stop. She didn't want to be carried, but she would hold your hand as long as you didn't stop. She just put her head down and walked, and walked, and walked. Here's a picture of the whole group of kids we went with. I was so mean to make them stop for 30 seconds to get a picture. :) You can just barely see Braden (Diego) poking out behind Aiden.
