Uncle John's Birthday Party

Last weekend we had Uncle John's 60th birthday party at our house. Here are a few pictures from the celebration: P.S. Sorry you are decapitated in the pictures Marty, I really didn't do it on purpose...

And after we walked everyone out and realized Hailey was missing, this is were we found her...she really fell asleep like that! I guess she had a LOT of fun at the party!!

A fluke

Well, Lacy woke up for a bottle at about 4:00 this morning, so apparently the "all nighter" was a fluke. Still, 6 1/2 hours isn't bad. =)

All night!

Lacy had a bottle and went to bed around 9:30 last night and slept until 7:15! She woke up once around 5 and I gave her her pacifier and she went right back to sleep, so I assumed Joe gave her a bottle sometime during the night. This morning he said that he didn't wake up with her either. Talon was sleeping 10 hrs. a night right from the beginning, but it took longer for Hailey.
I guess Lacy wanted to let us know that now that's she's 8 weeks old, she's a big girl too. Although in the past couple of days Hailey's been saying, "Me not a big girl!...me a widduw girl!"
We'll see how permanant that was, or if Lacy was just pooped from going out to dinner with Donna and Brandon last night. She was so good at the restaurant. She just sat there and looked around the whole time, and we were at Oregano's, so you know how long that takes!

Pool Fun!

Okay, so I was even more behind in my pictures than I thought. I started the previous post and it started to get so long, I decided to split them up. Here are some pictures of Joe playing with the kids in our pool.

Lacy and her still blue eyes. She's starting to smile more often now, so maybe we'll get a picture of that soon.

There could be an argument about who fell asleep first here. =)

What a cutie pie!

Hailey is feeding "her" baby Lacy

So, you can tell by who's in most of the pictures that Hailey really LOVES the camera. She loves getting her picture taken and then seeing the picture in the camera. In fact, she's looking over my shoulder right now saying "me see me, mommy".

Payson

We went to Payson for Memorial weekend, and had a great time! I only took a few pictures while we were there, but we got a couple of cute ones. Here is Talon at the park...

...Hailey at the park...

...Lacy at the park...

And Joe with the kids at the park. I think Talon and Joe are DONE!

Then, we walked over to the

and Joe took the kids swimming, while Lacy and I tried to stay cool in the shade.

Disney Princess

I still haven't downloaded the pictures from our weekend in Payson, but here is something I got from a friends blog.

You Are Snow White!
Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Pure and trusting. You are a gentle soul who can get along with just about anyone. Everyone you meet instantly falls in love with you. How can they resist? You have a pure, lovable nature that's irresistable. Just don't trust everyone who comes across your path.

Which Disney Princess Are You?

Apparently I am pure and trusting...bla bla bla, but I don't trust everyone who comes across my path?? I'm not so sure about the rest of it either, maybe I messed up and need to take it again!

Back at work

Lacy will be 6 weeks old tomorrow, and I'm up to 4 days at work this week. As long as I stay busy it's OK, but when there's not much to do I start feeling like I should get home to the kids instead of being here "wasting time". I'm very lucky to have my mom and mother-in-law to help take care of the kids while I'm working though, because if I didn't there's no way I would be able to work at all! All 3 kids go to my mom's twice a week, and Talon & Hailey go to Leah's (a lady in Joe's parents neighborhood) the other days. Since I've been back at work Charlotte has been taking Lacy on those days so that she doesn't get clobbered by all of the other kids at Leah's house. =) I wish I would have downloaded the pictures from my camera last night, but by the time I got home from swim lessons, unloaded the car, washed the dishes, gave Lacy a bath and started some laundry I was exhausted! Hopefully I can talk Joe into going to Payson this weekend for a little bit of R&R with just us and the kids.
I have my 6 week follow up tomorrow and I'm so excited that I'm finally going to get to swim again! Yeah!!

Mother's Day

I hope everyone had a great Mother's Day! Talon and Hailey gave me a card that they signed themselves, and Lacy gave me a card that Joe had stamped her hand and foot on. It was really cute. Joe gave me flowers and a card, and offered to let me pick out a Mother's ring. We think we are done having kids now, so it's pretty safe to go ahead and get one. We spent most of the day at my Uncle Martin & Cheryl's house, where the men do all the cooking and clean up for all the mom's. Then, we went to Joe's parent's house for Sunday dinner. It was a pretty good day. Here is a picture we took while we were at Uncle Martin's house.
I know the picture on our main page doesn't have Lacy in it, but I'm not ready to replace it with this one...maybe we'll go get some professional pictures taken if I can lose about 20 pounds. =) This picture was the best one out of about 15 we tried that day...arghh! Those kids sure are hard to get to sit still and smile.

I wanted to share my cousins "labor story" because I thought it was sooo crazy! This is Brynn's story (the one I had lunch with the other day). She was in the hospital bed and had already gotten her epidural, so she was completely numb. She was getting uncomfortable and pulled herself up higher in bed, and the nurse came in and said that they lost the fetal monitor connection and she was going to try to re-adjust it to find it again. Well, the nurse couldn't find the heart beat, so she told Brynn that she would check her first and then go get the doctor. When the nurse picked up the sheet, she said "the baby is here". Apparently, when she pulled herself up in bed the baby's head came out!! So, the nurse took the baby's head in her hand and the rest of her slid out. Isn't that the craziest thing you've ever heard? She was over 8 lbs too!

Big Day

Today was a big day. Talon had a Dr. appt at 9:00 this morning and got four shots! He was so brave and didn't cry while the nurses did the first two. The second shots were the stingers though and he cried a little bit for daddy. On the way home I told him that I was so proud of him for being so brave and he told me that he really wasn't because he cried, but I told him that it was OK to cry a little bit because it hurt a little bit and he agreed.
The doctor tested Lacy's stool again and there wasn't any blood!! Hooray, that's the first time it's ever been clear. She is also up to 8lbs 8oz now. I guess the crushed up 5 dollar bills they put in this formula must be working. =) She is still spitting up quite a bit, but he didn't seem too concerned about it since she gained almost an entire pound in a week. He also said that the crying should be much better in another week or so, once the old stuff is completely out of her system. Hopefully she starts feeling even better real soon.We went to lunch with my cousin, who had her baby two days after Lacy was born. Here are all the girls who had babies recently that were at lunch with us.
Then, tonight Hailey passed another level in her swim class. Congratulations Hailey!

The end of another season...

Our softball season ended 3 days earlier than I would have liked. We lost in the semi-finals on Thursday night. It was a heck of a game though. We were down 2-4 in the bottom of the 7th with one out and runners on 2nd & 3rd. Kelsey Rodriguez was up to bat, who has a batting average in the 700's, and she hit a line drive that almost made it over the 2nd baseman's head to tie the game, but she caught it and threw it to 2nd for a double play. :-( What a bummer! The girls had a great season though, and got first place in their region even though it was the school's first year in 4A. I'm very proud of them, even though it was very disappointing to lose last night.
Lacy is doing OK. She's not keeping down as much of the new formula as I hoped she would, but she seems to be doing a little bit better. If nothing else at least the new formula doesn't stain her clothes when she spits up on them. A friend of mine said that she thinks Lacy has already developed an eating disorder because we call our dog "fat dog" and ask Hailey were her cellulite is all the time. We were joking around and said that Lacy must be saying to herself, "man if I get into those 3-6 month clothes I'll just die!" Her and Talon are both going to the Dr. on Monday, so I'll have another update on her then.

Another weigh in...

I took Lacy back to the doctor for what has turned out to be a weekly weigh in on Monday. She was down one ounce to 7lbs 11 oz. She will be four weeks old on Wednesday and only weighs two ounces more than when she was born. =( The good news is that her new formula was delivered today, and she seems to like it. Although she spit up a bunch this afternoon (Grandma Dairman said she had to change Lacy once, and her shirt twice while she had her for 3 1/2 hrs this afternoon), she just had a full four ounce bottle and only spit up about 2 tsp. of it. YEAH! I really hope this new formula gets her feeling better. She'll go back to the Dr. on Monday to get weighed again.

Softball Party

We had the first round of state today at 1:30 this afternoon and we won 10-0. Then, after the game we had the whole softball team and their families over today for a swim party and barbecue. I didn't take any pictures because I was too busy to remember to, but I think everyone had fun. We borrowed Jono's (Joe's brother) Rock Band and Wii, so those high school kids would have something fun to do in our all kid house. =) They all signed up to bring something, so all we had to do was the meat and buns. Then, they cleaned up EVERYTHING before they left. All the way down to taking down the tables and chairs...that was great! We play the next round at 6:00 on Tuesday at Rose Mofford. The state tournament is single elimination, so only if we win we'll play Tuesday at 6:30, then Saturday at 6:00. I can't believe the season is only one more week! It seemed to fly by this year...probably because I missed a couple of weeks when I had the Lacy. Joe is so great to do all he does so that I can continue to coach. We figured it out the other day and my first year coaching was in 1998, so this is my 10th year!! I remember my first couple of years the umpires would come in the dugout to check the bats and helmets before the game, and would tell me to take out my earrings (they thought I was on the team), and now they ask me if I have a kid on the team! I must have changed a lot in the past 10 years...I've gone from looking like I could be on the team to looking like I could have a kid on it. Jeesh!! Believe it or not, Joe has been there since the first year and has made it to almost every game. He is so supportive to put up with all he does for 3 1/2 months while I work from 6am-3pm and then go out to the field until 6:30 everyday. I DEFINITELY could not do it without his support.

Lacy - 19 days old...and one day after her due date.

Well, we went back to the doctor today, and Lacy had only gained 3 ounces since last Monday. Apparently she is supposed to gain an ounce a day at this age. She also still had blood in her stool, and oral thrush (basically a yeast infection in her mouth, which he said kids with allergies to milk proteins get often). The pediatrician said that we need to order a case of the MOST EXPENSIVE FORMULA ON EARTH, and then we should be able to go back to the SECOND MOST EXPENSIVE FORMULA ON EARTH. He thinks once she goes through one case she should be fine. I have to take her back in a week to check her weight gain, and then once she's been on the gold powder for a week he wants to see her again to check her stool - again. With all that said, does this look like a sick baby to you?On another note, when we got home the other day there were a couple of rabbits playing in our backyard and I got a couple pictures of them before they ran off. In the first picture they are just about in the middle and one is jumping over the other. In the second picture one is hiding behind the bush and the other is waiting for him to come out.

The Phoenix Zoo

Yesterday Grandma and Grandpa Dairman took us to the zoo, and then out to lunch. We had such a great time I thought I would share a few pictures with you. Here are Gavin and Hailey petting the sting rays with Grandma...
and Ava and Talon with Grandma and Grandpa. Talon said that he didn't pet any because his arm isn't long enough yet, but Gavin said he touched 19!
Here are Talon and Hailey on the carousel with Grandma.
Here is everybody taking a break by the giraffes.
Talon in the petting zoo.
Hailey and Ava at the petting zoo.
Gavin and Ava by the blue frog.
...and of course the car ride home.
One funny story to share with you about the day. We left our house at about 8:15 am and went by Grandma and Grandpa Horihan's house to pick up the double stroller, drove the Grandma and Grandpa Dairman's house, followed them to Gavin and Ava's mothers house to pick them up and then followed them to the zoo. When Hailey got in the stroller and Grandpa Dairman was putting sunscreen on her he stopped and looked at me and here is how the conversation went:
Dennis: she doesn't have any pants on
Me: I know, she's wearing a dress (I thought he was saying that because Ava had on the same dress and was wearing shorts under hers)
Dennis: no she's not wearing ANY pants...she's got nothing on
Apparently, after I got Hailey dressed she took off her pull up and didn't tell me. The funny part is that while we were in the car she had told me, "Nakey mommy" and I told her she was being silly and that she wasn't naked, she had a dress on. She just laughed and said, "nakey". I guess next time I should listed to her when she tells me that. =)
Baby Lacy was with us all day too, but she slept most of the day in the stroller, so she's not in any of the pictures this time. She's doing pretty good, and is 17 days old today. Her due date is tomorrow, and she's finally starting to have a little bit more awake time during the day (and during the night too). Her prevacid prescription was $50! But we were able to scam it a little bit and get two months worth out of it by getting the Dr to write it for twice the strength and cut each tablet in half. She goes back to the Dr on Monday, so we'll know how she's doing then.

12 days old today.

We went for Lacy's appointment today and she gained 8 ounces since last Monday, which brought her back up to her birth weight of 7lbs 9oz. Unfortunately the test still showed blood in her stool, but not as much. The doctor wrote her a prescription for acid reflux and told me we could keep her on this formula for another week and then he wants to see her again...good thing we have great insurance! Anyway, I'm glad she gained as much weight as she did because she has been spitting up quite a bit in the past few days.

Today will be my first day back at softball practice since I had Lacy. I dropped Talon and Hailey off at the sitter's this morning so that I wouldn't have to take them with me to the doctor, then I met Joe for lunch. I'm going to take Lacy to Joe so that I can go up to the softball field in about an hour. I'm really looking forward to getting back to it. There are only a few more weeks left of the season, and (cross your fingers) I think we have a pretty good chance at winning state this year.

Home for a week now...

Lacy is 9 days old today and we visited Aunt Susan, Aiden and Gavin and then went to get her PKU done at the hospital this afternoon. After that, we went to Grandma and Grandpa Horihan's house and visited with them, Sydney, Braden, Tyler, and Uncle Dave and had dinner there. I've been off work for over a week now (other than the 4 hours I went in for on Wednesday morning). I don't really like being home all day. I'm not used to it, so I'm always asking the kids what they want to do next. Now who do you want to go visit? K, now what? I think right when I get used to this I'll have to go back to work. =) Here's a cute picture I took of Lacy this week.
And the one Hailey wanted to take after we were done with Lacy's

The kids are loving their baby sister and Hailey still gets upset anytime anyone else wants to look at her, hold her or feed her.

At Lacy's appointment on Friday the doctor found blood in her stool. Those of you who don't know about our kids and their allergies, here's the scoop. A few weeks after Talon was born we couldn't get him to stop crying. He went a few weeks crying whenever he was awake until I finally decided that it couldn't just be colic like everyone was telling me and took him to the doctor. He had blood in his stool, which meant he had some allergies and I was told to stop breastfeeding completely and switch him to the non-dairy, non-soy based formula especially for babies with allergies. He was an entirely different baby in about 2 days. When he was about 9 months old we took him to an allergist and found out that his allergies were milk and eggs....luckily he has grown out of those now and has no allergies. When Hailey was born, the pediatrician strongly suggested to use the same formula and skip all of the problems we had with Talon, so we did and she has never had any problems with any food. We did the same thing with Lacy, only she STILL had blood in her stool! Anyway, he said that it could just be that way because I had milk while I was pregnant and that may still be in her system?? We are going back on Monday to have her checked again, and if it's not better, we may have to switch to an even more expensive formula (which I was SHOCKED to find out even existed) that you can only order directly from the manufacturer online. So, pray that she is OK, or we may have to sell our house to buy the new stuff. =)

Lacy Marie Dairman

Lacy Marie was born on 4/9/08 at 6:21 pm. She weighed 7lbs 9oz and was 19 inches long. I went in for a normal Dr. appt on Wednesday morning and my doctor and I were both surprised to find that I was dialated to 5cm and 80% effaced. He asked me if I was in labor, and I told him that I didn't think so. =) He put me on a monitor and found that the contractions were 5-9 minutes apart, so he sent me to the mall to walk around and then check into the hospital. I went home and picked up my bag, picked up Joe from work and we went to the mall, walked around, had lunch and headed to the hospital. We checked in around 2:00 and I was at 7 cm. My contractions were still not great though, so the doctor came by and said that he would come back after business hours and break my water to speed things up. He broke my water at 5:11 and I had some serious labor for about an hour, pushed through three contractions, and Lacy was born at 6:21.
My parents were great and brought the kids that same evening to see their new little sister. They were so excited!! I can already tell that we are going to have our hands full with Hailey. She says "my baby Lacy" and wants to do EVERYTHING. She didn't want anyone else to do anything for Lacy while she was there...it's really cute. She's going to be a great little helper.

My mom came back with the kids on Thursday afternoon to see their sister again, and this time Hailey actually let Talon hold her too.

I love this picture showing how excited Talon and Hailey are about their baby sister Lacy.

Cute Game

I'm going to steal this idea from my sister-in-law Courtney because I thought it was cute. What you do is type in your first name and then needs into a search engine and see what comes up. Here are our results:

Kathy needs:
Kathy needs to give herself some credit
Kathy needs more attention
Kathy needs your help now
Kathy needs to do more talk shows
(but I already know who the baby daddy is, so what's the point?)
Kathy needs to find non-religious material to add to her routines

Joe needs:
Joe needs to remember that he is vulnerable to anything that gives an emotional uplift
Joe needs YOU
Joe needs a home
Joe needs help
(apparently with finding a new home??)
Joe needs to get his head out of his a$$ and face reality (hee hee)
Joe needs to poop (I know that makes 6, but it was too funny to leave out)

Talon needs:
Talon needs work
Talon needs advice
Talon needs serious help
(most of you have probably said that out loud a few times) =)
Talon needs a new home (so...there must be something Joe and Talon aren't telling me??)
Talon needs a good tune up

Hailey needs:
Hailey needs to look where she is going
(this could not be more true had it been written directly about her)
Hailey needs a hug (...and a kiss and a five and knuckles...blow it up)
Hailey needs to pee
Hailey needs other outside interests
(and we mean other than food)
Hailey needs your prayers and positive thoughts

Lacy needs:
Lacy needs to get a clue (I think that may be a bit harsh for someone who isn't even born yet!)
Lacy needs lots of attention and exercise
Lacy needs to learn self control
Lacy needs a place to stay
(because she has just about worn out her welcome in her current location) =)
Lacy needs a family that is loving and consistant with expectations and enforcing boundaries (we'll do our best!!)
